Abstract: The article deals with the results of mathematical simulating the transient processes in the solid rotor of the turbogenerator ТГВ type rated value 200 MW arose from the current impulse being formed when killing the magnetic field in the rotor winding through the use of capacitor. The purpose of the article is to strike a compromise between the rotor circuit quantities including the additional capacitance and characteristics of the eddy currents excited in the massive constructional rotor elements by the action of the impulse. The inferences obtained suggest wide potentials for application of new technology to running check of the rotor end bells state.
