Abstract: The present paper dealt with the full-scale investigation in the rotor testing of the turbogenerator (rated value 241.3 MVA) having been carried out by the use of the impulse signals being applied to the rotor slip rings at the manufacturer conditions. The new results offer a clearer view of how the separate stages of the rotor assembling at the sequence mounting of the rotor slot wedges system and the rotor end bells, as well as the rotor speed influence on the output diagnostics signals reflecting the damping characteristics of the eddy currents transient functions of the rotor constructional elements.
