dc.descriptionEconomic development with the direct participation of the community is based on the socio­economic development, in which local communi­ties have direct control over key decisions, includ­ing the control over the management of financial resources. This approach is based on using the poten­tial of social inclusion and social control, particu­larly useful for developing small communities where there is a strong relationship and economic interdependence of individuals united by a com­mon residence. The article focuses on the rationale and test­ing the hypothesis that the tools with which to in­fluence the social capital of local communities are social mobilization programs for residents of local communities, which lead to the activation of "dormant" potential of collective action and the willingness of people to help themselves. The immediate object of study is the chang­es in the characteristics of the social capital of ru­ral communities that participated in the project "Local development-oriented colossus" (IWG), which is being implemented in Ukraine by the UN Development Programme. To analyze the results of the IWG project's impacts on social capital of the community mem­bers involved in the project, methods were used pipeline matching and differencein-differences. Measurement of social capital was based on the most commonly used methods in the world (Integrated Questionnaire for the Measurement of Social Capital worked out by the World Bank, The World Values Survey, The European Social Survey and The Social Capital Question Bank). The main components of social capital, which is measured in the course of the survey, are: the general rules (honesty, integrity, etc.), the con­fidence, the tendency for interaction and coopera­tion, solidarity, and (anti) paternalism, shared tra­ditions, and long-term orientation, risk tolerance, involvement in decision-making, etc.en_US
dc.description.abstractРазвитие экономики при непосредствен­ном участии общества опирается на про­граммы социально-экономического развития, в которых местные сообщества (громады) осуществляют прямой контроль над ключе­выми решениями, в том числе контролируют управление финансовыми ресурсами. При та­ком подходе можно достичь не только коли­чественных, но и качественных изменений в уровне жизни населения, которые включают в себя рост социального капитала. Статья посвящена обоснованию и про­верке гипотезы о том, что инструментами, с помощью которых можно воздействовать на социальный капитал местных сообществ, яв­ляются программы социальной мобилизации жителей местных громад, которые приводят к активизации «дремлющего» потенциала коллективных действий и желания людей помочь самим себе.en_US
