Description: | Based on numeric algorithms modern calculation software can simulate natural and technological processes. The joint research project GRISSLi (IPVR, IBM High Performance Support Center and GMD National Research Center for Information Technology') is dedicated to the integration of different calculation software systems in a parallel computing environment to solve physically coupled, grid based application problems. In this article the problem of coupled simulation and the basic concepts for the realisation of a coupling software library are introduced; the GRISSLi pilot application - a coupled fluid flow and mechanic problem in the context of metal forming industry - is discribed as well. |
