| Description: | The use of homomorphic transforms for image quality improvement for the purpose of malfunction diagnostics is discussed. It is shown that such nonlinear transformations can be a useful tool for solving some specific problems: improving filter's efficiency of speckle noise suppression and detection of small size objects with negative contrasts in respect to surrounding background. The theoretical basis and common recommendations for its practical application are also presented. |
