Abstract

Subject. Economic relations in the aspect of sustainable economic development, in particular the formation of the responsibility of economic entities. Purpose. Disclosure the responsibility problems as an economic phenomenon and identify its characteristics as a system of relations on different levels of the economy. Methodology. The system of responsibility of economic entities interacting on the nano-, micro-, macro- and mega-levels has been established using a systematic approach. To purchase a system of socio-economic relations «responsible» status it is necessary to introduce into the reporting entities relevant assessment criteria, which will be a true reflection of performance commitments results. Findings. The system of coordinating divergent interests of economic entities has been presented on the basis of theoretical research of responsibility relations, as their interaction on the personal level; the micro level or the level of collective activity; the macro level or the level of public / national relations; the mega level or supranational / global level of socio-economic relations. Practical value. The analysis of actors responsibilities at different levels of economy is the basis for the formation of their effective economic policy. Further implementation of the principle of responsibility at the national, social and individual levels requires realizations in the context of sustainable development. It supports prospects for further research. Conclusions. Responsibility in terms of sustainable development is the responsibility of those who make decisions on economic reforming to those whom these decisions directly or indirectly affect. Therefore, the State’s responsibility in terms of sustainable development is the complex of models and mechanisms of social and economic policy, which has a multipurpose structure of coordinating interests of economic entities at all levels of socio-economic relations. The status of «responsible system» requires the implementation of the relevant criteria of responsibility to statements of entities, which will be a true result of commitments implementation. There are all reasons to expect that the real practical activities of micro entities, built on the principles of responsibility, will become increasingly important, but in the context of sustainable development principles of responsibility require introduction of further implementation at the national, social and individual levels. It needs further research.
