Abstract: The heat transfer coefficient for a single coke piece is determined experimentally, in the case of convective heat transfer with coolant gas. The experimental method and apparatus are described. A mecha nism is proposed for the convective heat transfer of the coke piece with inert gas. The heat transfer coefficient in the coke bed is considerably increased on account of additional turbulization of the flux.
