| Description: | During the last years, the abridgement of public funds by the government had a very negative effect on the financial situation of universities and colleges. Based on the current financial situation, it seems likely that the number of courses being held have to be reduced and the attendance at the remaining courses will be enabled for local and remote students via learning environments. Such a learning environment should be able to offer simultaneous interaction as well as access to recorded lectures on a multimedia server and on-line course in hypermedia format. An additional benefit of such a learning environment is an effective support of part-time studies and correspondence courses. |
