The Place of Regional Universities in Ukraine in the XXI Century

Abstract

The article is devoted to the analysis of the problem of ensuring the rights of citizens to higher education, observance of the interests of the individual, the state, territorial communities and employers in the conditions of reforming the system of higher education in Ukraine. The emphasis is placed on the fact that regional higher education institutions carry out important socio- economic functions, promote the development of the region and change the face of cities. It is shown that the experience of developed countries should be studied and implemented taking into account the best traditions of Ukrainian higher education and in order to create a competitive system of higher education in Ukraine.
