| Опис: | Specialists with a high level of information culture able to find, systematize and interpret information in their sphere of activity are highly sought on the modern labour market. Ability to understand professionally-oriented literature in order to gain additional knowledge on the speciality and to form professionally significant competences is becoming a very important and integral part of learning a foreign language in high educational establishments. It is a well - known fact that students obtain the major part of the information on their speciality by reading. At present internet sources of information are becoming more and more popular and even more commonly used than traditional printed sources. The availability of these electronic sources of information permits to work with professionally-oriented materials both in native and foreign languages. The abundance and availability of technical information have resulted in the necessity to form the system of skills and abilities to effectively search, select, process and interpret special materials found in the Internet. Referential and informative types of reading are essential while working with electronic sources of professionally-oriented information as the main purpose of these kinds of reading is to find and derive new, specific, important information. It is possible to form and develop the skills necessary to master these types of reading by doing definite types of exercises. The results of the work with professionally-oriented sources of information can be presented in different ways, by various group and individual information products. Referential and informative types of reading can be further researched taking into account psychological, linguistic factors as well as motivation of working with technical information in a foreign language |
