Abstract: The paper considers the theory of calculating the dynamic strength of elastic rod systems with distributed and localized masses when the eigenfunctions of such systems are weighted orthogonal. The ways of defining weight functions and squared norm of eigenfunctions for transverse and longitudinal vibrations are suggested.
