Description: In the article the ways of control are justified and algorithms of optimum control of a roll mill stand as by bivariate object are reviewed. In view of decomposition of the process on technological units the three-level system automatic control of a continuous mill with standard local control systems of screw-down structures and electric motors of a main occasion on a lower layer, two-connected adaptive control systems local cages at the second level,and offered multivariable regulator on a top level is developed. The system takes into account nonlinearity of the control object and variable delay.
