Abstract: Information Technology (IT) offers a myriad of digital educational tools for learning English as a foreign language. For the current study, the impacts of IT on learning English as a foreign language among first-year and second-year students of the economics and management department of DonNTU (Pokrovs’k) were explored. To this end, a questionnaire created with the help of a built-in feature in the LMS (learning management system) Edmodo was used in this study. The questionnaire was divided into two parts: the first part began with a general question about age and educational level. The second part included four specific questions concerning digital tools that, when used on a regular basis, improve the process of learning English. The findings clearly show that computer software, social websites, online videos, podcasts, smart phones and tablet applications have a positive influence on learning English as a foreign language. Therefore, modern educational web and computer tools can facilitate and improve students’ language and communication skills.
